Josie Chu didn’t take the usual path into real estate.
For seven years, she taught at the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton University — two of the country’s most rigorous academic environments. She earned her master’s at Penn’s Graduate School of Education and completed a marketing certificate at the Wharton School. Teaching at the Ivy League level shaped how she thinks, how she listens, and how she explains complicated things in ways that actually make sense.
After moving to Southern California, Josie put that training to work in a different way: she founded a preschool in Irvine, which she still owns and operates today. Building and running a local business gave her something no textbook could — a real founder’s view of the community she now helps clients call home.
Today, she brings that combination — educator’s patience, founder’s grit, and deep local roots — to helping families buy, sell, and invest across Southern California.

Josie has moved across countries, states, and cities herself. She knows what it feels like to uproot a family, learn a new community from scratch, and try to turn an unfamiliar house into a place that feels like home. That lived experience — combined with years of guiding students and running a business inside the Irvine community — is what drew her to real estate.
Buying or selling a home isn’t just a transaction. It’s a family decision, a financial decision, and often an emotional one. Josie’s clients say the thing that sets her apart is that she treats it that way. She’s patient with first-time buyers, detail-obsessed with contracts, honest when a property isn’t the right fit, and relentless when one is.
Based in Irvine, Josie serves clients across Southern California — from Orange County to Los Angeles and beyond. She’s bilingual in Mandarin (普通話) and English, with a specialty in helping Mandarin-speaking families navigate the Southern California market with confidence.
Her approach blends analytical rigor, design sensibility, and real entrepreneurial experience. She studies markets like she studied her syllabi — thoroughly. She walks homes before her buyers do. She asks the questions other agents skip. And because she’s built and still runs a business in Irvine, she understands what families are really weighing when they choose a neighborhood, a school district, or a home.

Whether you’re buying your first home, selling a longtime property, or building an investment portfolio, Josie brings market expertise, an educator’s patience, and a founder’s care to every step. Her goal isn’t just to close a deal — it’s to leave her clients better informed, better positioned, and genuinely glad they chose her.
